It was one of those days. Chaos had erupted in the Garber house. 4 unhappy children, a mess of new groceries to be put away, and one frantic mother. When Josiah attempted to use my new stock pile of tissue boxes to build a tower I almost snapped… almost. But then I realized his brilliance. Bags and bags of groceries awaiting placement in the pantry had just become the day’s playground.
We built castles from cans of chickpeas, black beans, and pasta. We built garages for our race cars from cans of corn. We built nurseries for our baby dolls from containers of apple juice. We fortified our architecture against a raging, snotty nosed toddler (we love you, Timmy!) We plotted, we laughed, we rejoiced, and Timmy cried.
In the end 4 of us had a great time and one toddler took an early nap.
I love you, my creative children. These are the best years of my life.
