Calandra + Steve – Altoona, PA Wedding Photographer

Calandra and Steve, I would have loved to have seen you together riding the bus as kindergartners.  I would have loved to have seen you playing tee-ball together in elementary school.   Yours is a love affair that began before grown-up teeth.  Before books with chapters.  Before awkward junior high dances.

Though I never saw these beautiful moments in your past, I’m so thankful to have been able to experience your wedding day.  I loved your serenity, Calandra, your total peace as you pledged the rest of your life to your best friend.  Steve, I loved the delight you had in your bride, the dimples that formed around your eyes as you gazed at your wife.  This day was beautiful.  Thank you for letting me capture the moments.

Nicole + Steve – Altoona, PA wedding photographers

Nicole and Steve’s wedding was the most intimate wedding I have ever photographed.  They read their vows to one another before myself, the pastor and a handful of their immediate family members.  I loved it!  There was laughter, smiles, and tears.

I’m on such a high from this my first wedding of the season; I can’t wait to do it again.  What is more exhilarating than seeing two people vow to cherish one another for the rest of their earthly lives.    Though your glorious day was the coldest day of April thus far, I am filled with warmth remembering all the goodness of that day.  Thank you, Nicole and Steve, for blessing me with a most wonderful 2010 inaugural wedding.

Krissie is one of my dearest friends.  We go way back to high school when we shared soccer, 7 classes a day, student council, and youth group together.  For a few years I think I saw more of Krissie than my own family.

Krissie and Ben met at my wedding.  Krissie promptly forgot about Ben.  But he didn’t forget about her.

Several years later Ben creatively and persistently pursued Krissie, and won his bride’s heart.  Then they began praying for a child.  They prayed.  Their families prayed.  I prayed and everyone else I knew prayed.

I’m so excited to meet you, little baby.  You are the answer to so many prayers.

Sisters – Family Photographer, Altoona, PA

My little daughters, I never had a sister.  I never spent hours giggling and changing outfits with a sister.  I never traded secrets while drifting off to sleep with a sister.  I never played dolls or house or ponies with a sister.

Through both of your eyes, I’ve seen sisterhood in all its beauty for the first time. I’ve seen sisterhood, and I love it.

One of my most intense desires as a parent is to have your love for, admiration for, and friendship with each other be deep and lasting.  Daniella and Anya, may these days be just the beginning of a bond that sweetens over time.

Grant and Christy yearned for a child.  After many years of praying, their little one will be theirs to hold come April.

Instruction manual in one hand, power tool in the other, Grant spent this past year preparing their house.  Christy added the color.  And together they have made a gorgeous house into a home – a home ready to welcome this new little one.

Little baby M, may God bless you with your Daddy’s insatiable curiosity and determination and your lovely mother’s life-giving laughter and hunger for all things beautiful.

Christy and Grant, I could have lingered in your home all day.  It’s walls were filled with warmth and joy.  I can still hear Christy smiling.   I am still delighted remembering Grant’s passion for his radiant bride.  Thank you for the beautiful memories.
