I had the pleasure of photographing Katie and Jason’s engagement session in downtown Altoona, PA. I’m looking forward to photographing their December wedding.

Brandon & Elizabeth – State College, PA Wedding Photographer

My brother and sister-in-law let me take a couples session of them with my new camera to get some practice using it.  We journeyed around my old stomping ground in Medford, NJ.  It was a blast (and six children and the grandparents were glad to have us back when it was all over:))

“30+ Online Tools for the Perfect Wedding” article

laptopandphoneThe good folks at Mashable have come up with a great resource list for soon-to-be brides.  They detail everything from website creation sites to online registries in their article about the 30+ Online tools for the Perfect Wedding.  They also recently wrote about Wedding Mapper, a service that will make customizable maps for your big day.  Mashable is one of the technology blogs that I follow faithfully and would recommend to anyone who enjoys technology and social media.

Family Portraits in the park

I had a blast photographing Kate and Jose and their 2 gorgeous and spunky girls.

8 reasons for 8 years – 8 Reasons why I love shooting weddings (reflections after 8 years of my own marriage)

matt&I.jpg1.  Because I love being married – Matt and I just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday.  It’s been a glorious adventure and one of the best decisions of my life.  I get really excited when other people get to start this journey.

2.  Because my wedding was one of the best days of my life – I still have so many beautiful memories from that day (including crying all through my vows, my first dance with the crazy dip at the end, and feeling so celebrated by all whom I love).

3.  Because I love family – Family reunions rock my world: all those people who I’m somehow related to and all their quirks.  I remember driving back and forth between New Jersey and Altoona when Matt and I were dating and spending a huge portion of the car rides talking about the similarities and differences of our families.

4.   Because I love a party – There’s just something so exciting about lots of people in a room together who are in a good mood.

5.  Because I’m hooked on “the kiss” – Matt laughs at me when we watch movies because when a kiss is coming I start talking to the tv, “Kiss her.  Do it. You want to kiss her.”

6.  Because I love food, especially nifty looking food – I really like eating and the prettier the food the better.

7.  Because I love dancing (and I love watching other people dance) – so I’m not the best dancer myself.  Dancing is one of the few activities that I’m not good at but I thoroughly enjoy.  I like that people get silly when they dance.  I like all of the corny wedding songs and the characters that it brings out on the dance floor.

8.  Because I love the unexpected -Weddings always have there unplanned moments, the moments that you talk about for a lifetime.  For me it was when my brother fainted and put a 20 minute pause on the ceremony and then decided to wear a helmet into the reception as a joke.

So there it is – 8 reasons why I have a passion for shooting weddings, written the day after my 8th anniversary.

Hi, Christina! I was just looking through your website and your work is great. My fiance and are getting married May 25, 2014 at Green Gables restaurant in Jennerstown, PA. I’d love to talk with you about options for packages/prices if you’re available that day :)

Thanks!
Kelly
